Our Story

IPFM Limited was set up by Luke Gibbon in 1987, from his dining table, when he had just two clients and 6 month old twins to provide for. Luke left a secure job with a company car to set up IPFM Limited because he was committed to provided the right solutions for his clients financial needs, not selling products associated with the highest commission. He understood that financial decisions are often connected to emotional life events such the loss of a loved one, which can make the decision making process even harder. He cared about all his clients so always offered an open door policy to clients, whether they are in need of specific advise or just want to pop in for a nice cup of coffee and a chat!

I was one of those 6 month old twins in 1987 and I have grown up to follow in my fathers footsteps, becoming a certified financial planner in 2015 and recently achieving chartered status. Having worked alongside my father in IPFM Limited since 2015 I bought the business when he retired in 2020 and am committed to continuing his legacy, maintaining an open door policy, holding the clients best interests at the heart and always having the coffee machine at the ready!

Accreditations

Chartered Financial Planner

Obtaining the Chartered status is challenging and takes dedication. Once attained it is the ultimate symbol of professionalism, and places you amongst the top professionals within the industry. To secure Chartered status, financial professionals must demonstrate:

  • The highest levels of technical knowledge through obtaining advanced professional qualifications.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience within the financial services sector
  • A commitment to the ongoing development of our skills and knowledge
  • An adherence to ethical conduct

This means that you can be confident you will receive the best possible advice, service, and support with your financial planning.

    Charlotte Gibbon

    Owner and Managing Director

    Charlotte joined IPFM Ltd in 2015 as a certified financial planner, having previously worked at an IFA practice in Manchester and a Wealth Management company in Birmingham.

    Prior to her financial career Charlotte obtained a 2:1 degree in International Business from the prestigious Aston University. She has continued her professional development at IPFM and has recently passed her advanced diploma in financial planning, becoming a Chartered Financial Advisor.

    Charlotte is married with two sons and in her spare time she enjoys travelling. As a PADI qualified scuba diver she particularly enjoys visiting countries which offer spectacular diving, such as Egypt, Fiji and Mexico. Charlotte is hoping to dive with giant manta rays in Costa Rica in the near future.

  • Yvonne Coughlan

    Accounts Manager

    Yvonne started working for IPFM Ltd in September 2016. She is currently working as an accounts manager, running the payroll, and reconciling the accounts. Yvonne also manages the group pension schemes, death in service and private medical cover within the business.

    Prior to her financial career, Yvonne came from a caring background working with children and adults with learning difficulties. This warm, caring nature enables Yvonne to build an instant rapport with her clients and colleagues alike.

    She is married with two children and two dogs and in her spare time enjoys regular theatre trips into London’s West End. Some of her favourite shows include Wicked, Phantom of the Opera and The Cursed Child.

  • Linda Smith

    IFA Administrator

    Linda started working for IPFM in March 2020 as an IFA administrator. Linda has previously worked in several similar roles, giving her over 20 years’ office experience.

    Linda manages Charlotte’s busy diary and provides timely and efficient administrative support to her team. Her role includes ensuring client information is current and accurate, processing the post, creating portfolio reports for clients, and taking meeting minutes. In her spare time, Linda enjoys walking her dog, Alfie, and spending time with her family and friends.

  • Faye Handley

    Faye Handley

    Trainee Financial Adviser

    Faye joined IPFM in January 2024 as an IFA Administrator, bringing with her valuable experience from a previous role within an IFA practice. Before moving into financial services she worked as a Personal Assistant at CEO level, developing strong organisational and client management skills.

    She is currently studying to become a Financial Adviser and is passionate about progressing her career in the industry.

    In her spare time, Faye enjoys family life with her partner and two children, spending quality time with friends along with travelling and making memories on days out together.
